Life as a Malaysian trans woman: resisting family expectations, bullying and conversion therapy
Conversion Practices
August 18, 2025
For almost two decades, she’s lived in the shadows of her family’s traditional, harmful expectations and has been bullied for living her truth as a trans woman. She then found solace and love in her partner and chosen family later in life, which gave her the strength and space to leave for a better life for herself. This episode is a collaboration with Justice for Sisters to highlight awareness of conversion therapy in Malaysia and how it affects queer Malaysians.
