James, a trans man who participated in Real Love Ministry’s (ex-gay ministry) conversion programmes shared how he started getting non-epileptic seizures during his treatment and was subsequently diagnosed with severe anxiety and depression, ‘I started getting non-epileptic seizures that he (Edmund) assumed to be “the work of the Holy Spirit”. I was left alone and miserable as I had distanced my friends to heal my “sexual-brokenness”.’
